About Basham Chiropractic
Chiropractors in Nowra & the Shoalhaven
Hands-on assessment, treatment and a plan that fits how you actually live. We work to identify what’s contributing to your symptoms, not only the spot that’s currently sore.
Our Approach
Care that fits how you actually live
We combine hands-on treatment with targeted exercise and practical advice. The goal is to identify what’s contributing to your symptoms, not only the spot that’s currently sore. The strategies that come out of that (what to do, what to avoid, how to settle a flare) are most of how you stay better between visits. Whether you’re an athlete, on your feet all day, or you just want to move more comfortably, the plan is built around you. Not the other way around.
The Team
Meet our chiropractors
Joshua Basham
Chiropractor
Joshua grew up in the Shoalhaven and completed his Masters in Chiropractic at Macquarie University in Sydney. After graduating, he spent several years in a private practice in the Northern Illawarra before coming home in 2014 to join the family-owned Nowra Allied Health Centre team.
Sport and fitness have always been part of his world, which led him to qualify as an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner. He lectures with Sports Medicine Australia and works with sporting teams across the region. In clinic, Josh combines hands-on manual chiropractic techniques with exercise prescription and self-management strategies. Patient-specific clinical pilates and rehab exercise are central to how he treats, particularly for the active and sporting patients he sees most often.

Gemma Calder
Chiropractor
Gemma graduated from Macquarie University in 2012 and went straight into private practice, working in multidisciplinary clinics across NSW and QLD before moving to the Shoalhaven to join the team here.
She’s competed in a range of sports over the years. Horse riding and swimming have been the constants. That background means she’s worked extensively with amateur and professional athletes, and she has a particular interest in sport-specific injuries.
Beyond her Bachelor and Masters in Chiropractic, Gemma has pursued post-graduate study in neurorehabilitation and dry needling, and is currently completing her International Sports Chiropractic qualification. In clinic, she uses spinal manipulative therapy, soft-tissue techniques (including dry needling) and structured home rehabilitation to figure out what is driving the problem, and what will keep it from coming back.
Qualifications
- Masters of Chiropractic
- Bachelor of Chiropractic Science
- Certificate of Musculoskeletal Acupuncture (Dry Needling)
- Currently completing International Sports Chiropractic qualification
How we work
One health centre, several disciplines, one direction
Basham Chiropractic sits inside the Nowra Allied Health Centre. That’s not a coincidence. We chose it because most of the patients we see do better when their care isn’t siloed. The Centre houses physiotherapists, podiatrists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, personal trainers and specialists.
We refer in both directions, in the same building, often the same week. The shorter the loop between people, the faster you get answers.
Where we work
Looking after the Shoalhaven
Patients come in from across Nowra, Bomaderry, Worrigee, South and North Nowra, Berry, Shoalhaven Heads, Huskisson and Vincentia, plus the wider Shoalhaven region. Some are weekend athletes. Some have desk jobs that have caught up with them. Some are pregnant, post-natal, recently retired, or somewhere in between.
If you’ve been putting up with pain or stiffness, or you suspect your body could be working better, call (02) 4422 1421 or book in below.
